Hi,

I have a nagging bug on IE (7, 6, and 5.5) that works fine in Firefox. The main "normal" VE dashboard displays correctly except for 2 problems:

1) The zoom-out image is missing the blue background present behind all other elements
2) The "Bird's Eye" text displays on two lines. "Bird's" withing the main horizontal bar with the blue background and "eye" right under neat "Bir'ds" and overlayed on top of the map.

I've tried playing with some styles but I'm probably not using the right combination of CSS selectors.

Has anyone seen this before

Screeshot of the broken dashboard -

Thanks!

Hi,

Just include the dtd definition in the head of your file.

Code Block
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> '>http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

Example of broken code:

Code Block

<html>
<head>
<title></title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">

<script src="http://dev.virtualearth.net/mapcontrol/mapcontrol.ashx v=6"></script>

<script>
function GetMap()
{
map = new VEMap('myMap');
map.LoadMap();
}
</script>
</head>
<body onload="GetMap();">
<div id='myMap' style="position:relative; width:400px; height:400px;"></div>
</body>
</html>

Now put in the dtd definition, and the dashboard should be back to normal for IE 6/7.

Regards,

Just FYI, I am not trying to control the dashboard and/or the div in any way. Just displaying it with the inital map load call and that's it.

Excellent. Thanks.

I'm just going to re-paste your answer since it came out a little funky at first.

Code Block
