I have downloaded and used WLM 8 for several days.
Suddenly after 1 week when i sign in i keep getting this error message 80070002 "service is temproray unavailable". I have a valid internet connection, i tried to install and uninstall several times but i keep getting this message.
I can sign in from a diffrent computer.
Please help me as soon as possible thanx
I had the same problem. Could you tell me the procedure to check the news groups (path to check and what I have to check ).
I confirm that, creating a new user and logging-in to Windows with such user, it is possible to sign in in WLM, but for me is important that the WLM could work in the old user account.

I tried the posted solution suggested by you, but it does not work yet.
I tried also the Turtle's solution, but I would like the solution work in my windows account and not in another account.
I don't know if another problem is related to the previus one, but I also noticed that my machine (XPMCE) don't save e-mail passwords ("Outlook 2k3"), so I have to retype password every time I download e-mail ("send and receive" button).
Windows Messenger works fine (no Error code 80070002 is reported), it is just WLM that does'nt work.
So, I suppose there is a policy problem, but I can understand James Baker's suggestion.

unfortnately i have EXACTLY the same problems you have: email password memorization, error 80070002 only with WLM and not with MSN (even if i cannot memorize the password neither in MSN)... furthermore internet explorer doesn't keep in memory the searches i do or the names in the loggins... nothing!
so if this is a policy problem (as i think too), how can it be solved did you find a solution

Problem solved!
You have to create a new Administrator profile in "Documents and settings". To do that:
- create a new user "new_user" with Administrator permissions;
- log-in as "new_user";
- rename the Administrator folder (in "Document and settings" folder) as Administrator.old (if impossible use the safe mode);
- log-in as Administrator (a new folder and profile Administrator will be created);
- log-in as "new_user" and copy the old files from Administrator.old folder to the new Administrator folder followig the article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811151
- log-in as Administrator and verify that everything is OK.
Before deleting Administrator.old folder, be sure that you have restored mail messages and addresses.

I fixed my problem. The only thing i do is go to safe mode, run the system restore in safe mode and undo the changes back to the date before the WLM error 80070002 happen to my computer. It's that simple and i didn't use the MSN 8.1 now and using 7.5... Hope this will solve your problem. Good Luck!!!
