.NET Dev Center

If I am going to pull images off a site for a block like Blaugh is doing with its comic strip, do I create an XML pointing to the images on my server- right now I am basically trying to get my thoughts around this as I am wanting to create a carousal for our products.

With the carousal block there is a input for a single image ĘC if you wanted to add multiple images, would you have to create another block or is there a way to add multiple images and links to different sites

It depends on how your images are stored, we have one block (Image Scraper) that will fetch all images from a web page, or in the case of Blaugh the block is coded so that it talks to a web service (xml) that Blaugh maintain, that web service basically returns a list of image URLs and Titles we then parse the XML to build a javascript object that contains that information.

Can you bring text in from twitter or RSS into the carousel block or is it possible to show text in this fashion

Re: Carousel Block

Unfortunatley you can't show text in the place of images with the carousel block. You could use the news reader block though.

Hmm, I thought it would be interesting to show random RSS feeds in a carousel. Any ideas on how I can do this

Hi,

Here are some ideas to get you started. You could send GameTrailers to Carousel. This is nice because the GameTrailers feed comes with an image, and if you click on the title you see the text of the news item with a link to the original item.

Is that about what you are looking for

If so do you have any ideas on how to generalize this to other news feeds (like MSN News Feeds) and how to select random news feeds
