Hello all,

is there a way to have multiple world representation like for example in Google or Yahoo Maps with virtual earth If the answer is no, is this something that Microsoft is planning to do for next releases

Nicolas,

Can you please clarify as to exactly what you mean by "multiple world representation" Virtual Earth already has a 2D aerial/hybrid and 3D mode.

I'm guessing the ability to scroll left of the US to wrap around to Australia

Zoom out far enough you see many copies of the earth in gmap.

I don't think it is in the plan for VE 2D, certianly 3D has no issues.

I agree it makes it a little hard to show, for example, a plane route from Sydney to LA.

Yes that's right by multi world map I mean several world representation side by side (like in Gmap) so when you scroll left of the US you wrap around to Australia an when you scroll right of Australia you wrap around the US.

The other issue is at certain zoom levels you can't centre the map on locations to the extreme left or right. For example we find it difficult to centre on east coast Australia, New Zealand must be even worse. It gets worse if you have tool panels floating on the right as the user cannot drag the map from under it.

I wonder how big a change it would be to wrap the tiles I can see there being many issues with shapes and core functions but i do agree something needs to be done.
