Not sure if I understand your question entirely. WOuld it be possible for you to post sample code to reproduce this

I'm pretty sure he is talking about the DOM elements added after the content below the map, it is still within the HTML body but causes the length of the page to differ, simple example:

Code Block

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

<head>

<title></title>

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://dev.virtualearth.net/mapcontrol/mapcontrol.ashx v=6"></script>

<script type="text/javascript">

var map = null;

function GetMap()

{
map = new VEMap('myMap');

map.LoadMap();

}
</script>
</head>
<body onload="GetMap();">
<div id='myMap' style="position:relative; width:1200px; height:800px;"></div>

<div id="findme"><div>
</body>

</html>

In the rendered html source after the map loads after the div called "findme" is this code:

<div id="findme"><div>

</div></div><div id="MSVE_navAction_palette"></div><div style="visibility: hidden;" class="ero ero-leftBeak"><div class="ero-shadow"><div class="ero-body"><div class="ero-actionsBackground"><div class="ero-previewArea"></div><div class="ero-actions"><ul></ul></div><div class="ero-paddingHack"></div></div></div></div><div class="ero-beak"></div></div><div style="visibility: hidden;" class="ero-progressAnimation"></div><div style="z-index: 31; display: none; opacity: 0.95;" class="VE_Panel_el" id="help"><a href="#" class="VE_Panel_title" id="help_title"><span>Help</span></a><a href="#" style="z-index: 32;" class="VE_Panel_cb VE_Panel_cb_blue" id="help_cb"></a><div style="z-index: 32; display: none;" class="toolbar" id="help_tb"></div><div style="z-index: 32;" class="VE_Panel_body_help" id="help_body"><iframe id="helpFrame" src="about:blank" allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" height="100%" width="100%"></iframe></div><div style="z-index: 32; display: none;" class="VE_Panel_foot VE_Panel_foot_blue" id="help_foot"></div></div>

</body></html>

John.
