    - Virtual Earth API over HTTPs : annoy "Do you want to display the nonsecured items?" message I have a problem using Virtual Earth API over Https. I cannot get rid of 'Do you want to display the nonsecured items ' message. I know I can turn it off through IE 7 settings, but it's not the best solution for thousands of customers using my website.     - Hi Everyone. Being new here as a moderator.. I just want to say hi to everyone on the forum here. I am Joshua Lee working at Microsoft Enterprise Service ISV Practice as an Enterprise Strategy Consultant. My main role is to consult Independent Software Vendors to architect/design/develop their strategic plans and applications on MS .NET Platform. Recently, I also wear another hat in the Windows Live Platform Service Scout Team. When this hat is on, my focus is working with MS field staff, selective strategy partners and customers to enable them leveraging Windows Live Platform Service ( http://dev.live.com technologies) as a foundation to build their applications/web sites. I am working on content, training, Quickapps, best practices and what not. I understand there have been some concerns on not getting much answers from this forum. I understand your frustration. Microsoft is actively soliciting more moderators to help address the issues. My teammate Ben Williams will be joining in too. My evening hours have already spoken for. Nevertheless, I will try my best to help out and get to the most common unanswered questions. If I may, I like to ask everyone to pitch in as you already do to help each other. That would really help us to sort out the key unanswered questions that the communities don’t already have the knowledge. Honestly, as Windows Live Platform is evolving so quickly, I’m also learning it as I go like you do. So please excuse me if I might not have the perfect answers. I started off at Developer Support in Internet Explorer Development Team as a Developer Support Engineer. The technology I supported was anything under the sun related to development against Internet Explorer like DHTML, XML, ActiveX Control, BHO. I was a while back. With luck, I still find one of my webcast on Internet Code Download. J http://support.microsoft.com/kb/325307 . (Please don’t ask me anything around it as I probably lost it all already. ) Then I became a Content Lead in the team in charge of tech reviewing all the KB articles in IE Development area. After 3 years, I moved to my current team. My technology focus grows from C#, .NET CLR, ASP.NET, ADO.NET to WCF and WPF. My role has revolving more focus on architectural and performance issues. Of course now I add on Windows Live Platform too. Before I joined Microsoft, I was a client server developer on Visual Basic with Access and MS SQL Server. In my personal life, I’m currently in my 2nd year of my full time Executive MBA degree at University of Washington. Love the program with the unique class schedule, well-qualified professors and excellent staff support. And some how, I have tried a lot, I get this sort of render error. The flash is being displayed over the scrollbars of the activity window. Is this a known issue, and if so what can I do about it.     - Need Some Troubleshooting on my Website I'm obviously a little bit behind trying to do finish up a Hurricane Center the second week of July, but I need some help to get it done. My plan is to make a site which uses the Virtual Earth map and GeoRSS pushpins to create a virtual "track" of the storm. It is based off the GeoRSS demo that Keith Kinnan put out a while back. I thought it seemed that it was set up right, but apparently something isn't right, as my storm track for Andrea isn't showing up. I'm not sure why it isn't working right, as it was mostly an extention of his demo. Anyways, I'm somewhat new to the Virtual Earth API (this is my first major project into it), so I would appreciate an extra pair of eyes, and more importantly, some guidance.You can find my Hurricane Center demo at http://thecloudonline.byethost9.com/hurricane/2k7branch.htm . The message at the top of the page explains the limitation of this version (basically because it was pointless to add to it my project if the basics didn't even work). Feel free to browse the source. Another important file you may want to take a look at it is the GeoRSS XML file for Andrea (which is supposed to be the data source for the app). I've tried to fix as much of it as I could but I think something is still wrong there and messing up my whole thing (or at least adding to it). The XML file "shows up" in Firefox correctly, but I get errors in IE. Anyways, if you want to see it, you can get it here .     - Domain Authentication documentation The documentation about Domain Authentication found here seems to contain an error. Six possible response codes are defined, including OwnerWontLogIn . However, the system seems to return OwnerWontLogin (notice the lowercase i ) if the user doesn't want to sign-in. As a result, code using case sensitive comparisons doesn't work properly. Tag: help

    - Sorting on simple xml datasource Hi I read a post somewhere - but can't recall where - where I saw an example of how the results of a simple xml datasource can be sorted in the chat, on the fly. Any chance this can be re-posted / pointed out how The idea is that my simple xml filter returns results but they are not ordered the way I want them to.     - Continuing FB-GeoNames-VirtualEarth problems [Moderators: I wasn't sure which forum to post these issues in, so feel free to move the topic to the Bugs forum if you'd rather have it there.] Task: Display all photos from all the photo albums in my Facebook account. My Shared mashup: My_FB_Photo_Albums Bug When I try to add a third Facebook block to get my Facebook account Name , using the getUserInfo function, and adding it's output to the photo display block, only one photo is displayed -- the first photo from the first album. There are a total of 18 photos in two albums available. Since several of the photo display blocks use a "Name" field, it looks like the Facebook block should be modified so that it also returns the photo owner's Name in the getPhotos function, and maybe their Profile URL as well I tried using the Combine block with the Facebook getPhotos block and a third Facebook getUserInfo block, but that did not work. What would be the suggested workaround for this at the present time Bug I've tried every photo display block that MS provides in Popfly, but all of them mangle these Facebook-posted photos to the point where they are really bad . Both, the thumbnail images and the larger size versions, are very blurry and pixelated. You can see the original photos from links on my Profile page ( http://www.facebook.com/profile.php id=709239610 ). It seems that the photo display blocks do not like these JPG images that are compressed at 20% Do the photo display blocks take the image type (file extension) into account before it resizes an image I ask because there are different methods of resizing a photo based on it's type (JPG, BMP, GIF, TIF, PNG, etc.), which attempt to keep quality at it's highest level. Is there any way to get better quality Is there a particular photo format or image size that works well with the photo display blocks Bug When I click on an image or the link to "display original image" (such as in PhotoTiles), a new window opens and displays yet another terrible quality, smaller-than-original, image. Why is the original image not being displayed "as uploaded" (size and quality), like it does from the Facebook View Photos links The new window URL appears to be the Facebook site, but what I see are NOT the images I uploaded . Suggestion In all of the photo display blocks, the text sizes being used in the output displays seems way too big to me. There is barely enough room in most of them to display three or four words , let alone a complete photo caption of two or three lines . I would like to suggest that these blocks allow the user to select a font size, from a pre-defined list of font sizes. From this user-selected font size, the Silverlight code can then select the most appropriate font face, weight, etc. for the specific control (displayed item) being used. By the way, the Carousel block still does not allow some photos to be "brought to the front" of the carousel, as I reported in the Bugs forum a while back. You click photo A but photo B is the one that gets moved to the front. Just happened to notice it again tonight, so thought I'd mention it. Thank you, Tag: help

    - Error while decoding token When I'm using the new LiveID SDK to singin I get an error saying: Error: DecodeToken: Decryption failed: System.Security.Cryptography.CryptographicException: Padding is invalid and cannot be removed.     - Suggestion: Sharing options Thinking that Popfly would be an excellent personal web site manager, I clicked "share" for the very first time today. I thought that the web page I created would be shared to everyone on the internet, but trying to get to my page from another machine only returned me the Popfly login screen. Very disappointed. Everything I share is only limited to the limited user base of Popfly That can't be it! There must be something I can do to make my creation known to the universe! My ransacking the my Popfly found me no such setting. Oh well maybe I am destined to be silenced by Popfly's reach barrier. Wouldn't it be nice if I can select whom I share the project to Having basic access levels like "To everyone", "To Popfly users", "To my friends", etc. would make the Popfly space a whole lot more usable!     - Windows Live Search Has TryStar Entries This may seem unrelated, but I have three entries in Live Search Collections that I am not able to delete. These are entitled TryStar Profile, TryStar Projects, and TryStar Ratings. These Collections try to connect to a server that is unavailable and the Delete option never surfaces. I believe that Microsoft Popfly was originally referred to as TryStar . Popfly does have profile, projects, and ratings features. I don't know why or how these entries got into my Collections in Live Search. I just want to delete them.. If anyone has any insight into this, please let me know. Tag: help

    - reloading the Map, increases the decreses the zoom level bye 1 Hi, Here is the situation, the user searches for San Francisco on the Map and gets the initial map with a zoom level of 13(per say)... Now if the user searches for San Francisco with in the same session for San Francisco, we don't treat this as a new search, and we try to use the viewport co-ordinates which were saved in the session from the previous search.     - Windows messenger live problems Hi, I have just upgraded to windows messenger live 8.0 build 8.0.0792.00. It connects and reconnects constantly by itself whenever its likes. I 've Only just resently started having this problem... it began with being unable to change display pictures.. then being unable to add contacts... then getting constant pop-ups of the same people wanting to add me. I have allowed messenger in the program control with Zone Alarm. It is a very frustrating problem. I thought it may be a virus but my anti virus found nothing.     - Problems with call consecutive datasources (and SetOnDelayMessage) I'm having some issues when trying to call two datasources in a row, and use a SetOnDelayMessage in between the two. What I'm trying to do is call a web service, and then depending on what is returned, I want to use SetOnDelayMessage and then call another web service.
