I can't seem to get windows live messenger to open. Everything was working as usual until it randomly stopped responded and I was forced to end task. After ending task it will no longer open at all, i click on the icon and nothing happens, it isn't running in the task list either. I've uninstalled and reinstalled many times, nothing seems to comes up. Internet is working fine, firewalls are turned off, it just doesn't seem to ever open the program to allow me to sign in.
I got mine to work by resetting the router.
I did it through my router's page. But I suppose you can just unplug the power to your router and reset that way.
I have a solution, and I think it will work for most of you.
1. disconnect to the internet
2. Open MSN Live Messenger
3. in the Tool -> Preference, close the option "login me in when connected to internet"
4. Save the perference
5. Connect to the internet
6. Login.
Thank you for your advice! I almost thought I had it but a problem occurred.
Once I disconnect to the internet, Messenger does load. I tried changing the preferences like you suggested. After connecting again, WLM immediately freezes. After doing the whole procedure over and over again, with and without the preferences changed, it freezes right after I connect back on internet.
I hope someone can help me out
