- Custom Disambiguation - results link to what? I'm trying to do something seemingly simple, but not having much luck. I'm using the example in the Visual SDK for custom disambiguation. After I search for a 'where', the list of possibilities is displayed in my custom disambigiation box, but clicking on one of the results then displays the default disambiguation box with the same results. In the example, each result in the custom box is a link to map.Find(null, resultName) , where resultName is the full name of the result. According to the SDK, this name string should represent Virtual Earth's unambiguous name for the location -- so why is a disambiguation dialog displayed when it is passed as the 'where' for a Find. An example of this not working can be seen if you search for: Maltby, United Kingdom. Two results are returned: Maltby, England, United Kingdom Maltby, Stockton-on-Tess, England, United Kingdom Selecting the first result just starts the disambiguation loop again. Only the second result is unambiguous. What should I link each result to in order for the disambiguation to actually work, that is, just return a single result. The last thing any of us wants is to be constrained by additional imposed regulations on a county-by-county basis. A person is defined under EU, and UK law as an individual, sole trader or member of a business partnership. Please for the sake of us all in the Virtual Earth, and Google Maps developer community, ensure that your website maps comply with your country¡¯s laws, concerning data, and privacy. - RSS + Yahoo Term Extration Multiplicity Problem Hi, I have been creating a very simple sample that will use the yahoo term extraction block over an rss feed. Therefore, I have a default RSS block (with the default URL) in, joined up to the Yahoo Term Extration block (with a sentance as the RSS title and the termHelpExtraction as a Custom empty field). My problem is that the term extraction reports the results over and over multiple times, it seems that the RSS block passes the source element into the Yahoo term extraction block multiple times. I don't think it is a problem with the Yahoo block because if I replace the Yahoo Term extraction block with a TextHelper block using the append method (the first element is the RSS title, and the second is something like PAUL), again the title element is repeated many more times than necessary. It looks the item is repeated for each element in the RSS block. - Cant display pushpin in 3D map control Hello I have developed a Virtual Earth application. The application renders some data from live geoRSS feed, parse the XML file and then add pushpin to the default 2D maps using the lat and lon value. Everything works file here. But when i switched to 3D view of VE it doesnt display the pushpins. I even tried loading the 3D map as a default map and the result is same. - major problem with the map.ReSize method - huge amounts of ram are consumed - hundreds of megabytes. I have a major problem with the map.ReSize method. When I call map.resize IE 7 just sits and consumes mega amounts of ram (100's of megabytes + counting) and becomes unresponsive. - Why do trailer parks show up automatically on maps such as weather.com? This has bothered me for a long time - when you go to virtual earth, weather.com or anything that uses virtual earth mapping services, and you're searching a city like Phoenix, as soon as you start zooming in you get all of the trailer parks. Why is this, and how can it be stopped It seems like maybe the developers were trying to show all parks... but trailer parks came up instead. It's really odd, especially since Phoenix isn't known for it's trailer parks - I think that would be a southern thing - and since we have more parkland per capita than any city in the US, including the two largest urban parks in the world. As a former city of Phoenix planning committee member, I guess I'm just showing my community pride, but I hate going to weather.com and zooming in and seeing nothing but trailer parks listed - why not regular parks, shopping malls, neighborhood cores, historic neighborhood names, etc., etc. Thanks everyone for at least letting me know why this is happening and perhaps how to put an end to it! - Need Some Troubleshooting on my Website I'm obviously a little bit behind trying to do finish up a Hurricane Center the second week of July, but I need some help to get it done. My plan is to make a site which uses the Virtual Earth map and GeoRSS pushpins to create a virtual "track" of the storm. It is based off the GeoRSS demo that Keith Kinnan put out a while back. I thought it seemed that it was set up right, but apparently something isn't right, as my storm track for Andrea isn't showing up. I'm not sure why it isn't working right, as it was mostly an extention of his demo. Anyways, I'm somewhat new to the Virtual Earth API (this is my first major project into it), so I would appreciate an extra pair of eyes, and more importantly, some guidance.You can find my Hurricane Center demo at http://thecloudonline.byethost9.com/hurricane/2k7branch.htm . The message at the top of the page explains the limitation of this version (basically because it was pointless to add to it my project if the basics didn't even work). Feel free to browse the source. Another important file you may want to take a look at it is the GeoRSS XML file for Andrea (which is supposed to be the data source for the app). I've tried to fix as much of it as I could but I think something is still wrong there and messing up my whole thing (or at least adding to it). The XML file "shows up" in Firefox correctly, but I get errors in IE. Anyways, if you want to see it, you can get it here . - pictures as icon and add comments to the contact 1 - I would like you to restore the featute from one of the latest messenger that it was able to display the picture as an icon of the contact(whenever the contact was displaying a picture it would come as an icon) that was very helpful when you have two persons with the same name or alias in our contact list; 2 - Another feature would be for us to be able to add some comment or notes to the contact. A quick line that could be added to the person's user/nickname would be a good start. But actually what would really help is that we could open a little flash card were we would store information about that contact. It is not very polite to get a Robert on your screen and you start talking about something that you started with another Robert. - IE7 errors only with sub-users, not the primary user When I logon as myself, I have no IE7 or window errors. However, when other window users of this computer logon (may also have admin. level), IE7 errors (truncated text) and script errors occur. Primary script error seems tied to AT&T Yahoo Online Protection trying to load, but many other IE7 pages have yellow triangle on lower left taskbar. Have unistalled IE7 and re-installed. - Order update issue Hello adCenter team, Here is the problem we just encountered today: We want to update the names of some orders, but it doesn't seem to be as easy as calling the updateOrders method. First of all, it seems that adCenter does not support partial updates (at least not for orders!). We have to fill up almost all the fields in the AdCenterOrder even if we wanted to modify only the name of the order. In particular, we have to provide a new starting date for the order. But, if we do this and the order belongs to an active campaign, we get error -100837 ("Can not update the alive Order" - "The start date or budget type of an order cannot be changed once it has gone live."). Pausing the order and trying to update it doesn't work. What we had to do was to pause the campaign containing the order and then the update worked. The funny part is that adCenter API does not give us the power to pause/resume a campaign(that works only at the order level!). We have to do it through UI. So, here is what we did in order to change the names of some orders: 1. We paused the campaigns; (manually) 2. We updated the orders; (automatically, through API) 3. We resumed the campaigns. (manually) And suddenly we have a semi-automatic system, instead of a fully automatic one.
