ok i have windows live messenger from this link http://get.live.com/messenger/overview it worked for the 3 months until about a week a go. I also have msn explorer i cant sign in either. I'm wondering if something has blocked my access to msn or any email in my computer or chatting places.the only way way i can read my email is from in the firefox explorer. i cant even read my email of any sort in my internet explorer, not yahoo either. And when ever I try to log in from my msn messenger live short cut or any source it says this,... signing into windows live messenger failed beacause the service is temporarely unavaible. please try again later.
error code: 8004888d
please help in any possible way

I am having the same problem but only signing into messenger. I have the current 8.1 and it gives me an error code 80004005.

would like to know what to do.

i was having the same prob.. u knw what my firewall was blocking it.. i had zone alarm installed..

HI,

Well I have the same problem with a different number. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling. I tried repair. no go. error 8004001f3 still comes up

does anyone have a fix for this I found nothing on microsoft website either

Ive got the same problem someone PLEASE HELP ME! its been going on for months now and is really annoying everytime i try to sign in the message "error 4004888d" comes up does anyone no any way to get rid off it!!!!!!!!!!!PLEASE HELPPP!!
