The cardinal spline (aka, the canonical spline) is a cubic. You can find a derivation of the polynomial coefficients on pages 645-646 of my book "Programming Microsoft Windows with C#" or pages 638-639 of "Programming Microsoft Windows with Microsoft Visual Basic .NET." Using these formulas you can create a polyline for a cardinal spline. (In both books, the derivation is followed by a WinForms program that mimics the DrawCurve method with a DrawLines call.)

In WPF, creating a Spline class that derives from Shape should be fairly straightforward. (But if it doesn't seem all that obvious, let me know and I can probably turn this problem into a blog entry.)
