Rob Ainscough

I can't seem to find any WPF control that would operate similar to a DataGrid control -- ListBox doesn't really support columns and column headers. What are my options here

Thanks, Rob.

The answer is no.

However you can host Windows Forms Controls in WPF:

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms751761.aspx

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms742875.aspx

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms750944.aspx

or

Some capabilities of the DataGridView control are reproduced with the ListView and GridView controls.

The closest thing to DataGrid in WPF is a ListView using a GridView. You can read all about that here in the SDK.

Infragistics also has a datagrid, which is available for free here:
http://www.infragistics.com/Default.aspx

WinForms can be intreoped (using the Crossbox technology) but that won't work on the web, and also you cannot use any of the WPF goodies, like transforms, transparency, etc...

Using templates, you can transform a ListView to look like a datagrid with a limited feature set.

No deployment restrictions Ok with click once deployment (full trusted)

100% managed

Wow, if so, amazing!

Re: Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) Is there any DataGrid equivalent in WPF?

Serge Calderara

Thats the fact yes, manages, no restriction on deployement....

I did not have tme to test it yes, but it sounds for me a bit too much complicated for my aplication case for operating interface..This a first guess according to screen shot I have seen.

If you test it, let me know how you feel. Implementation is not straight forward I would say..

Rob,

Make sure you check the Infragistics grid before you make decisions. It's a great alternative, to say the least, to the XCeed product.
