Hello,

I'm loocking at WCF 3.5 and want to be able to show my clients the schema associated with each POX message that they can retrieve or that they need too provide as parameters through my REST architecture.

So does or will WCF 3.5 generate a schema for each pox message

Thanks in advance.

When you are using ServiceHost and add webHttpBehavior to the endpoint(s) and enable httpGetEnabled then you can see the metadata.

Not sure whether this will be made available through WebServiceHost as well for Orcas RTM.

but viewing metadata of the POX message is not the same as XSD schema isn't it I read that the meta-data enables the client to generate a proxy from the WSDL. This is ok for SOAP web service but for REST web service it should show the XSD no

If I want to show my clients the XSD of the POX message that they can retrieve, should I write manually this XSD or does WCF 3.5 provide an utility to generate it

Obviously, the generated WSDL contains the XSDs you are looking for.

You can use this as a starting point and extract the raw schemas either by hand or through disco.exe or applying some kind of XSLT.

You choose.
