I have a general question can you use the Office RibbonBar control from within Xaml

I you can has anyone done it an what are the pitfalls to look out for.

Actually, you can write your own ribbon controls using WPF's styling and control templates.

I believe there are third parties that are building the ribbon UI using WPF. Currently this isn't something on our list.

There's an Office UI Licensing program that lets you obtain a royalty free license if you'd like to use Office UI in your apps. More info in the Ribbon extensibility page.
