I wasn't sure by looking at the website\forums so i thought I'd ask.
I'm assuming the express editions do NOT contain MSDN or the Platform SDK

I'm developing small C# WinForms applications mainly, On a vista x86 machine. I figured the express image, coupled with MSDn and the Platform SDK would be all i needed.

You are correct. Visual C# Express Orcas does not contain the Windows Vista platform SDK. As for the MSDN, I'm assuming you mean the corresponding documentation. Express Orcas does contain the installation option for MSDN Express. You can find Windows Vista developer documentation here.
