Hi!

I have a major problem with mobile device development since I installed Vista.

(All installations are RTM versions.)

* Windows Vista Ultimate

* Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Team Edition for Software Developers

* Windows Mobile 5.0 SDK for Pocket PC (includes "Device Emulator Manager Version 1.0)

* Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center 6 (32-bit)

I am using the emulator "Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC Emulator".

It is possible to start the project using F5. But when I open the "Device Emulator Manager" and chooses to "Cradle" the started emulator nothing happens. Sync Center doesn¡¯t starts to identify the emulated device.

The consequence is that the emulated device doesn¡¯t have a ¡°network connection¡±, e g to browse Internet.

Best regards,

Benjamin

After more thoroughly scanning this forum I got the solution.

Download and install "Microsoft Device Emulator 2.0 -- Standalone Release"

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx FamilyID=dd567053-f231-4a64-a648-fea5e7061303&DisplayLang=en

Now started Sync Center to identify the emulated device.

I am in the same situation: I have a Windows Vista Ultimate and Mobile 5 SDK. I have downloaded the 2.0 Emulator and yet the Windows Mobile Device Center still does not detect the emulator. Any other suggestion Thanks.

Yey! It now works. I changed a bunch of stuff on the Windows Mobile Device Center and unfortunately I did not know which setting made it work. I will have to figure it out sometime but at least I know the emulator works on Windows Vista!
