    - Connecting to a Pocket PC database (ie: contacts in pocket outlook) How can I connect to a database file on the Pocket PC I am trying to extract contact data from the native application on my Pocket PC, which I believe is called "Pocket Outlook." I've searched for information on this, and everything either points me to using some other database (like SQL Server CE), or to using ActiveSync to sync the Pocket PC with Outlook on a desktop. Is there any way to connect directly to the native database on a handheld device from a desktop application I'd like to do it through C#.     - Custom Installer Setup Fails Hey Everyone, I am attempting to create a Smart Device setup package using the "Using Setup Projects to Deploy Windows Mobile 5.0 Applications" tutorial found at http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/windowsmobile/bb264341.aspx . I go through all the steps, but when I run the installation and it gets to the end it throws an exception (accomplished using the 2869 error fix here http://www.shahine.com/omar/VSTOAddinsAndVista.aspx ) which says: Error 1001: Exception occurred while initializing the installation: System.ArgumentException: File = does not exist. If this parameter is used as an installer option, the format must be /key=[value]. This error occurs during both a regular installation and an Administrative Installation in Vista. My device is Pocket Pc 2003 SE device but I m using a Windows Mobile 5.0 development environment so the right emulator can be "Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket Pc Emulator". I also got one difference that all the certificates installed on Pocket Pc 2003 SE Emulator are issued by CA's but all the certificates installed on WM 5.0 Emulators are "Self Issued".     - .NET CF Initialization error Emulator does not have task manager. It is a 3rd party component. You should be able to run your application from Visual Studio on a device under a debugger.     - Sidebar can't find new gadgets? I've installed a few new gadgets to my gadgets directory. They all have foldername.gadget, but the sidebar will not show me anything other than the default 11. A few of these gadgets have been downloaded from the "Get more gadgets online" link. What am I doing wrong here A few of the gadgets I've tried have "File Folder" listed under type, even though they end in .gadget as the folder name. Another file there is calculator which is listed as a "Windows Gadget" under type, yet sidebar finds none of them.     - Can't Start New Smart Device Projects Most likely your installation is somehow corrupt and reinstall should help. Technically repair should have helped. I'm assuming that you're having the same problem when you try to create anyother smart device project types such as Console Application or Class Library for PPC 2003 or WM 5.0 Additionally please try "devenv /setup /resetuserdata" before trying reinstalling. I tried using the lineGetGeneralInfo for GSM phones to reterive the IMEI no.

Is there a similar APi for the CDMA.

Hi selvaraj,

Why do you need ESN or MEID for your application If your application is to identify a device uniquely, you can use GetDeviceUniqueID() function for Windows Mobile 5.0 device.
