hi all

i am very new to this subject....
I am trying to implement TTS and ASR on mobile phones(PPCs/PDAs) using WINCE 5.0 SDK on Windows Xp ...

Can this be done on VS-2005(or has to be done on eVC++)..

also if the speech APIs are present in the WINCE 5.0 SDK....

thanks in advance

Gaurav

Visual Studio 2005 doesn't have a WinCE5.0 SDK. It ships with PocketPC 2003 SE and SmartPhone 2003 SE images. You can install corresponding WindowsMobile 5.0 PocketPC and WindowsMobile 5.0 Smartphone SDKs from web as free download. Although Device Emulator BSP (Emulator used with Visual Studio 2005) is available for download http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx FamilyID=474B03A6-E87D-455D-BC16-B8CF18EF39B4&displaylang=en and you can roll your custom image and use it with Visual Studio 2005 (See this link for instructions on how to do this http://blogs.msdn.com/barrybo/archive/2006/08/21/710908.aspx).

The details of Speech APIs are at http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms897381.aspx

-Thanks,

Mohit

Hi Gaurav

Neiter Windows CE nor Windows Mobile ship with an speach engine - you'll have to add a third party component.

Some more Infos can be found here:

Nuance for instance has such products.
