    - Astoria Client Library Problems - System version mismatch When debugging my application I get the following runtime error: Could not load file or assembly 'System, Version=2.1.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. The version of System I have is 2.0.0.0. I'm assuming I've messed up an install or not downloaded something and I'm hoping others have had the same problems and succssfully got it working. I'm on Vista Business with Visual Studio 2008 Beta 2.     - EVC++ 4.0 : float to string conversion unicode problem? _stscanf would do that if it can not parse the string according to format, e.g. because string is incorrect. You should always check whatever _stscanf returns to make sure conversion was a success. Also print out string you're passing to _stscanf to make sure it's good, try known good hard coded string to see if the rest of your code works.     - MRU again I noticed that if an application is present inside "Programs" folder, after you execute it, it will displayed on top of the MRU list within Start Menu (for Pocket PC). But if the application is not inside "Programs" folder, after you execute it, it will not show up in the MRU list. Also, if the same application, which is inside "Programs" folder, is launched via one of those hardware buttons on the PPC, it will not show up in MRU list. My question is, was the above observation true If it is, the only way for an application to show up in MRU list is for user to launch the app from within "Programs" folder. This is a little bit odd.     - Cannot link to GAPI (GX.LIB) Hi Experts, I have been struggling to link my application with GAPI library. I am using Windows Mobile 5.0 SDK and trying to get access to the Video frame buffer. From the MSDN API list I found GAPI provides interface to access the video frame buffer for windows mobile 2002 and above platforms.     - Program Create is a newer verison of the .NET Compact Framework than then version on mobile device I created a program on visual studio for my pocket pc. I was using pocket pc 2003 console application made a cab file. Downloaded and installed it but when I tried to open the file it gave me an error message saying. Error: This application (SampleApp2.exe) requires a newer version of the Microsoft .Net Compact Framework than the version installed on this device.     - Call ActivateDevice from managed code I found something interesting; I was using a p/invoke to call the GetLastError function and that returned the invalid handle error. But I read somewhere it is better to use Marshal.GetLastWin32Error as the p/invoke might return the wrong results. So I changed it to use the managed function and now it returns error code 110: ERROR_OPEN_FAILED. They're making money off of the sports scores right now. They'd be making less if they just gave them away. It's sad, but that's the state of "Big Sports" these days. You might be able to find cricket, World Cup, or NHL scores in free feeds, but good luck finding MLB, NFL, or NBA scores with sufficient data to make them useful and without having to pay an arm and a leg for a license.     - Low Memory Resource File error I have a large app (for .NET cf), and after creating a Dictionary<> to reuse my images my application took it's memory usage from 15 MB to 11MB. Which is a very significant optimization, I can understand why they decided to make .resx return duplicate bitmap objects to prevent errors in disposing them, but you might as well never dispose a bitmap and re-use them all day long.     - Re-install/upgrade doesn't work Unlike desktop's Installer, WCELOAD has no notion of upgrade. Each CAB should be complete with all files. You can do improvised upgrade by creating CAB with different application name (e.g. "My Cool App Update 1" instead of "My Cool App" and doing whatever's needed for upgrade in setup DLL (detecting if original application is installed and can be upgraded, moving files, etc.). Setup DLL is the only "custom action" you could have with CE CABs. It has to be a native DLL, no managed code or scripts. Probably because your system administrator set some polices to prevent it. Things to try:

1. Use NETCF V2 SP2, it has some fixes related to UAC on Vista.

2. Run it as administrator if you’re administrator on your PC.

3. Contact your administrator if you’re not.
