    - MRU again I noticed that if an application is present inside "Programs" folder, after you execute it, it will displayed on top of the MRU list within Start Menu (for Pocket PC). But if the application is not inside "Programs" folder, after you execute it, it will not show up in the MRU list. Also, if the same application, which is inside "Programs" folder, is launched via one of those hardware buttons on the PPC, it will not show up in MRU list. My question is, was the above observation true If it is, the only way for an application to show up in MRU list is for user to launch the app from within "Programs" folder. This is a little bit odd.     - Program Create is a newer verison of the .NET Compact Framework than then version on mobile device I created a program on visual studio for my pocket pc. I was using pocket pc 2003 console application made a cab file. Downloaded and installed it but when I tried to open the file it gave me an error message saying.     - Call ActivateDevice from managed code I found something interesting; I was using a p/invoke to call the GetLastError function and that returned the invalid handle error. But I read somewhere it is better to use Marshal.GetLastWin32Error as the p/invoke might return the wrong results. They're making money off of the sports scores right now. They'd be making less if they just gave them away. It's sad, but that's the state of "Big Sports" these days. You might be able to find cricket, World Cup, or NHL scores in free feeds, but good luck finding MLB, NFL, or NBA scores with sufficient data to make them useful and without having to pay an arm and a leg for a license.     - Re-install/upgrade doesn't work Unlike desktop's Installer, WCELOAD has no notion of upgrade. Each CAB should be complete with all files. You can do improvised upgrade by creating CAB with different application name (e.g. "My Cool App Update 1" instead of "My Cool App" and doing whatever's needed for upgrade in setup DLL (detecting if original application is installed and can be upgraded, moving files, etc.).     - How to configure GPS on window mobile 5 and later? Rajat, There should be a lot of demo code on the internet about how to access the serial port. I believe that VS2005 has a serial port control. Just drag it to your form and set up the properties. Look at your GPS. It probably connects at 9600 with 1 stop bit and no parity, but read the manual. My suggestion would be to use hyperterminal first to see what kind of data is coming in from the serial port. Odds are that it will look something like: $GPGGA,hhm ms s.ss,ddmm.mmmm,s,dddmm.mmmm, s,n,qq,pp.p,saaaaa.aa,M,±xxxx.xx,M,sss,aaaa*cc<CR><LF> But check your manual to make sure. The data will probably come in really fast, so you may have to send it a command from hyperterminal to tell it to slow down so you can read it. Unless you are writing software for a weapon system or a moving car, updates every second will probably be just fine. You can't auto add it to the Sidebar. MS would prefer the users to do that.

However, a while back I wrote an article on the subject and compiled an EXE to do it, as this functionality would be necessary if you were deploying Gadgets centrally through MSI's etc.

Your exe doesn't work on my computer (Vista Ultimate RTM simplified chinese version)... Just like Stanimir Stoyanov said. If it could run, a security dialog will popup, is it Is there anyway to install a gadget silently

I expect the window title is different. You'll have to change the AutoIT script to cater for multiple languages and recompile it.

Having said that, I've not tried in on RTM.
