I am trying to use the WM6 emulator and the cellular emulator to simulate incoming phone calls. But the WM6 "device" shows the "phone off", and I am unable to get it to fake a cell connection. When I try, I get "A wireless radio must be attached to use the phone."

So what does it take to "turn" the thing on and get it talking to the cellular manager

The Windows Mobile 6 SDK docs under 'Cellular Emulator Quick Start' show how:

The Cellular Emulator will act as a software wireless radio and interpret the AT commands sent out from a Windows Mobile 6 image. The current version of Cellular Emulator only works with Device Emulator.

  1. Read the COM port configuration from the status bar of the Cellular Emulator main window.
  2. Map the Serial port 0 of Device Emulator to the specific COM number.
  3. Launch the Windows Mobile 6 image (you may need to soft reset the emulator)

This should help

From what I can remember when I gave this a shot, the emulator was running a com port over 10, way over, and the cell emulator only wanted something less than 10.

The emulator file system (storage card) for the wm6 stuff is still borked up bad. FlushFileBuffers fails as does setting the EOF if smaller or equal than the current file size. Then there's _wfopen creating a file when given a file path that does not exist, instead of failing with rc=3 (ie, it creates a file using the name of the first path that doesn't exist).
