Hi Omar_Jordan,

Did you get any exception message when you added a control library to the ToolBox of VS.NET 2003

If you right mouse click the ToolBox and choose "Show All" in the context menu, can you find the added controls from the control library

Did you own the source codes of the control library Is the control library written in VS.NET

Can you try to reset the ToolBox and add the control library to it again Check if it works for you.

Warning:

If you reset the ToolBox, all the added controls by yourself in the ToolBox will be lost. You should be cautious

to do this action.

Hi Omar,

Thanks for your update.

Try to check if you set AutoToolboxPopulate property for false according to the following steps:

Open VS.NET 2005 -> Tools -> Options... ->Windows Forms Designer -> AutoToolboxPopulate

If it is false, try to set it for true.

Does your control library source codes written in .NET If yes, try to include it and add a reference to it in your project by VS.NET 2005. Then recompile it and check if you can find the controls from the control library in the ToolBox of VS.NET.

Hope this helps,

Hi Omar,

Thanks for your quick reply.

My suggestion is to try to check if you have different enviroment configurations between the control library working machines and not working ones. Did you install VS.NET 2003 SP1 in the control library not working machines

Hi Omar,

Thanks for your quick reply.

I'm not sure if the SP1 can solve the problem about adding a control library to the ToolBox of VS.NET 2003. If you like to do so, you can try to install VS.NET 2003 SP1 and check if it works for you.

As I understand, you need to find out what's the difference between the working machines and not working ones. Maybe this can help you fix this issue.

I think VS 2003 will only add one instance of a control to the toolbox at a time (and it may not be recognizing different versions of the same control as different controls). If you remove the 1.0.4.1 controls first, then can the 1.1.0.0 controls be added

Regarding your initial problem: are the controls you tried to add visible when you select "Show All Tabs" from the toolbox context menu If not, can you describe the exact steps you used to add them

Thanks,

-Josh

Re: Visual C# IDE Problem at Library

thanks alot

i removed it before, but the problem still. ok many ways the first one by drag and drop the dll to toolbox or by add it by click to add item context menu the select the dll and check all controls that by default checked.\

Re: Visual C# IDE Problem at Library

  1. When you select "Show All Tabs", can you find the controls in the toolbox
  2. Did you see any error messages when you tried to add them
  3. After opening the Add/Remove Items dialog, selecting the controls, and clicking OK, are the same controls still checked if you open that dialog again

Thanks,

-Josh

Re: Visual C# IDE Problem at Library

thanks alot.

1-no i can't find a controls.

2-no error messager.

3-yah will find just some controls in library and it's be default checked.

Re: Visual C# IDE Problem at Library

You said this works correctly on some machines, but on others it doesn't work, right On the machines where it doesn't work, are you able to add other controls (third party controls or controls that ship with Windows) successfully

(I'm trying to ascertain whether this is a problem with the toolbox in general or with your controls in particular.)

Thanks,

-Josh
