Hi All !

Can anyone suggest me (with code) how to invoke a web application(developed in .NET) or a web service(developed in .NET) from a Windows service ( also designed in .NET)

Its Very URGENT....

web application/web service can be simply accessed by the URL it exposes.

you can HttpWebRequest or simply WebClient

is that what you mean by invoke

I have a GUI application ... i want to run this application using a windows service designed in .NET....

so how to do that

I dont think service is supposed to interactive with GUI, and I remember windows 2003 doesn't support it. so even if the program works in xp/2000 it might not work in 20003.

windows GUI application is very different from web application, that's a different topic.

Could you please be more clear First you detailed that you want to run a web service or web application from a Windows server, now you're saying you want to run a GUI application.

It's not recommended to run a GUI application from a service because a) by default services don't have an interactive desktop; so the user cannot interact with the GUI application b) the service will run before there is an interactive desktop c) Windows Vista and Windows Server 2003 don't have the ability for windows services to interact with the desktop and d) the default heap for a service isn't large enough to support a GUI application this is more than just "simple".
