Hi, I have a class with a function overloaded many times. In the editor when I write the function name then the tooltip appears and list all the overloaded variant of the function, I can select the one I want to use with the up/down arrows. Is possible to force this visualization order The order seem to be casual. In fact in different PCs I have different visualization order.

Thanks

Moreno

The ordering is undefined. It is basically the order in which Intellisense picks it up. However, at least in C#, Intellisense tracks the history of what you use so, in theory, if you use an overload several times it might start appearing as the first overload in the list. I haven't confirmed.

Since this question is related to the IDE I'm moving it from C# General to the C# IDE forum. Perhaps someone there can better answer your question.

Hi, Moreno

As far as I know, the IDE intellisence has no such order attribute choice for overloading methods.

The order of the methods depends on their parameters' number (ascending) and parameter's type name (alphabetically).
