Hello. I've installed Visual Studio 2005 with service pack 1 and update for Vista on a Vista Bussines 64 platform. Now, how can I develop applications in .Net 3.0, because I don't find .Net Frameworks 3.0 tab in Visual Studio 2005 Thanks'.

.NET 3.0 doesn't change any of the existing .NET 2.0 libraries -- it adds to them.

.NET 3.0 adds WPF, WCF, WF, and I'm probably missing one or two more. But all of the existing .Net 2.0 classes stayed the same, and you still use them.

So, after you download the .Net 3.0 framework from MSDN you are ready to go.

Is there one particular technology you were trying to use

You need to install the .Net 3.0 SDK:

MicrosoftR WindowsR Software Development Kit for Windows Vista and .NET Framework 3.0 Runtime Components

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx FamilyId=C2B1E300-F358-4523-B479-F53D234CDCCF&displaylang=en

and Visual Studio 2005 extensions for .NET Framework 3.0 (WCF & WPF), November 2006 CTP

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx familyid=F54F5537-CC86-4BF5-AE44-F5A1E805680D&displaylang=en

Watch for word wrap.

The extensions are what gives you the 3.0 stuff in the templates.

Hi,

The .net framework 3.0 SDK is contained in Vista Bussines you can open it at 'Control Panel -> Programs -> Turn Windows Features On and Off'.

In addtion to vs 2005 extensions for WPF&WCF, there is a extension for WF:
Visual Studio 2005 extensions for .NET Framework 3.0 (Windows Workflow Foundation)

An alternative to use vs 2008 beta2 which has built-in support for .net framework 3.0 & 3.5beta2.

Best Regards

Thanks' for reply. But I didn't know that .Net Framework SDK 3.0 este deja instalat in Vista Bussines and I installed it manualy from an image (Vista SDK). Is that a problem

That is fine. There aren't multiple verisons of .Net 3.0 -- just multiple ways of getting it.

Sorry, by a mistake, I wrote a part of text in Romanian Smile. I wanted to write I didn't know that .Net framework 3.0 SDK was already installed by default in Vista Bussines and I installed it again from Vista SDK Image.

LE : I saw response that all was fine. Thanks' for promt reply.

As Chris said, don't worry about it.
